Meher Baba

Baba Events around the UK

July 2019

19th, 20th and 21st

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Meher Baba dropping His body, the Meher Baba Association is delighted to announce that it will be hosting a residential weekend in this beautiful historic house set in the English countryside.

The property has spacious grounds and meeting rooms, plus accommodation for 50 people, as well as providing delicious vegetarian home-cooked food.

The invited guest speakers will be Devana Brown, longtime resident of Meherazad, who served the women Mandali and who, for the last eighteen years of Eruch Jessawalla’s life, was his devoted helper.

Our other guest will be Jamie Newell, a very popular Baba musician and storyteller, and a frequent visitor to Meherabad since 1980.

We also hope that our very own Baba treasure, Hilla Talwar, will share some of her great stories about her childhood with the women Mandali on Meherabad Hill.

We envisage a joyous and sociable gathering, and warmly invite Meher Baba lovers from the UK and abroad to attend.

The programme will run from 4.00 p.m. on Friday the 19th July until 4.00 p.m. on Sunday the 21st. To cover expenses the cost will be approximately £245.00 for the whole weekend, including three meals a day plus 2 nights accommodation, per person.

A Day rate will be available of £40.00, plus £21.00 per meal per person. There will be special rates for families and, exceptionally, some financial assistance may be available through the MBA’s Bursary Fund for those who would otherwise be unable to afford to attend*.

There is limited space for camping, but no special facilities available for campers.

Please note, this is an initial announcement to provide people with advance warning in respect of what will be limited spaces for this special commemorative event. Further information, including the Booking Form and details of the full programme, will be available at later in January. All queries later please.

*The funding available from the Bursary Fund is limited and will only be given where the Board of the MBA feels it can be justified. Details of the Fund’s rules are on the MBA website, see Welcome page.
